Tatjana Wood

by Bronze Age, Colorist

Once pencil and inks are complete, there is a crucial step to bring the story to life – colors. This falls to the colorist, an often unheralded artist whose artistry and skill we see without noticing. Check out this piece from Alan Moore’s run on Swamp Thing.

Look at the bottom, and you will find a list of credits. Included in those credits is colorist Tatjana Wood.

Wood started with DC Comics around 1969 and was the colorist whose work you saw on the spinner racks from 1973 until the 80s. Her cover work was brilliant and eye-catching. As well as the aforementioned Swamp Thing, Wood also provided colors for Grant Morrison’s Animal Man and Moore’s Camelot 3000.
