Alice Kirkpatrick

by Golden Age, Illustrators

It seemed a natural progression to move from work as an artist illustrating pulp magazines to comics. Still, Alice Kirkpatrick didn’t know that at the time. In 1937 her time was spent working for Ace Magazines, signing her name “Kirk.” Within the next decade, she would find herself working for Quality Comics on Betty Bates and other titles.

Her work has also appeared in many of the romance titles for Ace, Ziff Davis, and Timely. In 1955 she worked on Stanley Morse’s Navy Patrol, but by 1956 her efforts moved over to illustrating the dust jackets of books.
