Look closely while watching the 1924 movie The Great White Way, and you just might catch a glimpse of Fay King (appearing as herself with other illustrators).

Who was Fay King? Ms. King was a journalist and cartoonist whose contributions to comics in the mid 1920s included Mazie and Girls Will Be Girls.

A journalist by trade, King also penned advice columns and approached her comics auto-biographically. Often putting herself in them as a thin woman with large feet and a big hat.
