Marjorie Liu
After graduating from law school, Marjorie Liu gave the world of attorneys a go before deciding she wanted to do something else… write.
It wasn’t long before she wrote stories for Marvel, contributing to titles Such as Marvels’ Astonishing X-Men (concluding Marvel’s first gay wedding in issue #51), X-23, and Black Widow. She also authored the novel Dark Mirror which focused on the X-Men.
Liu’s star went interstellar when she created the fantasy comic series Monstress, a title with artwork by Sana Takeda. The series takes place in a matriarchal universe marked by race wars and violence. The series earned her both a Hugo Award and an Eisner.
